Meta, Sweden Campus

Fortis supported Meta in one of the company’s first international data centers, with the creation of the Lulea, Sweden, campus on the border of the Arctic Circle. First coming online in 2013, the project features an innovative cooling system created for the unique climate characteristics of northern Sweden. It also uses new energy-efficient technologies including an evaporative cooling system and an airside economizer to bring in 100% ambient air, and the facility re-uses server heat to warm office space. The campus is built to LEED Gold standards.
