Fortis first established a relationship with this confidential tech company by building its mission-critical campus in the state of Washington. From there, with a proven ability to deliver for the client in new locations, we were asked to conduct a site search covering 11 states, 30 communities and 50 specific sites. Then, Fortis handled the negotiation of an incentive package, including utility and infrastructure extensions and grants, enterprise zone tax credits, and other incentives to assist this large client to locate in Nebraska. Ahead of construction, we also led the due diligence of the selected site and all associated infrastructure, plus coordination of all utility and infrastructure needs with the applicable state entities as well as interviews, recommendations, selection and management of all specialty consultants. The final result was a conversion of a 300,000sf warehouse over three phases into a Tier III data center.
