Fortis was selected to construct Metal Toad Media’s 8,000-square-foot headquarters office in the Historic Yeon Building. The Portland-based company provides tech consulting, product development and managed services solutions for some of the nation’s largest technology and entertainment companies. To align the firm’s brand and culture with a new historic headquarters office space, Fortis constructed a workplace environment that blends creative genius with sustainability and historic appeal. Occupying a full secured-access floor of the Yeon Building, the gut-and-remodel project provided open-office space that is complemented by a large conference room, five breakout meeting rooms, a flexible lounge space and an open kitchen/bar/game room. The conference room and meeting rooms all include large monitors and video conferencing capabilities; the flexible lounge accommodates breakout meetings, conference calls or quiet research; and the multi-use kitchen supports the firm’s food service needs while allowing it to demonstrate custom-designed hardware and software, such as a digital keg-level monitoring system and “Toad Cade” arcade machine.
