Internship Programs
Our mission is to foster internship experiences that develop future construction professionals while providing an opportunity to create meaningful relationships, grow professionally and make an impact.
The summer internship program provides hands-on experience that allows college students to deepen their skills while being embedded with a variety of project teams.
We welcome many of our former interns as full time employees following graduation.

Our internships take place during the summer and typically last for about 12 weeks, during which interns are on-site and an active part of our project teams. Internships constitute a full-time paid position.
At the start of the internship, all students spend three days at our Portland, OR headquarters, learning about the Fortis culture, meeting company leaders and getting to know their fellow interns.
Throughout the internship you will have opportunities to create meaningful relationships through a variety of intern acitivites, whether that is on-site team builders or virtual connections.
As an intern you will be provided with an intentional mentor to support your growth, provide training and give thoughtful feedback during the duration of your internship.
Every intern, regardless of role, learns by doing. They are an integral part of the team and contribute meaningful work – whether on a project site or in one of our offices.
