Crane and Fortis Construction Break Ground on New Data Center

Fortis, in partnership with Crane Data Centers and members of the Forest Grove community, proudly celebrated the groundbreaking of Crane’s newest state-of-the-art data center campus. This milestone marks a significant step forward in delivering cutting-edge digital infrastructure while fostering meaningful community engagement.

When fully built out, the next-generation campus will provide approximately 100 megawatts of capacity across two high-performance data centers, designed with a strong emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and local impact.

From the outset, the project prioritized community collaboration. Feedback from residents was actively sought and thoughtfully integrated into the design and construction process – including creating access roads that would mitigate neighborhood traffic and adjusting lighting. The project also emphasizes local economic development by partnering with neighboring businesses for on-site services and committing to sustainable practices such as rainwater harvesting and low-carbon construction methods.

Beyond infrastructure, the initiative is deeply rooted in community impact. Fortis and Crane are investing in workforce development, volunteerism, and philanthropic efforts that benefit the broader region. Educational partnerships with Crane include hands-on learning opportunities for Forest Grove students, public art installations created by local youth and internship programs through Pacific University Forest Grove Campus. These internships offer students real-world experience and academic credit, helping to build a strong pipeline of local talent.

Fortis is honored to collaborate with Crane Data Centers and the Forest Grove community on a project that not only advances technological capabilities but also makes an impact.
