Last week, Fortis was recognized with multiple honors at the Associated General Contractors of America National Convention.
As part of AGC of America’s inaugural Culture of CARE Awards, Fortis was selected for two recognitions. This included the 2025 Commitment to CARE Award, an award category that reflects our dedication to creating a workplace where people feel valued, supported, and respected, and being named the Culture of CARE Impact Champion National Award.
We were also honored to place 1st in our category within the Building Division at the AGC National Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA). This award recognizes our team members’ commitment to safety on site each and every day and in everything we do.
The AGC National CSEA Awards were a highly competitive process. Around 150 firms submitted applications, and 62 firms were selected as finalists across several divisions including building, construction management, highway and transportation, utility infrastructure, heavy, and specialty. Finalists then presented in person at the Convention to a diverse panel of judges. Fortis representatives highlighted the meaningful improvements our EHS team has made to our safety program over the last two years and importantly, how all Fortis team members have implemented these efforts across our jobsites. The presentation showcased the development of our Culture of Care, built around the principles that safety is a mindset. We also shared how this culture has been embedded through key initiatives, including the Aloha Craft Engagement Program, our partnership with Lines for Life to expand mental health support, the use of the Energy Wheel, and enhanced methods for tracking, reporting, and sharing safety data.Â
These honors are a reflection of not only every person at Fortis, but also every trade partner and craft worker on our collective sites in committing to our culture of care and safety as a mindset.
