Fortis Project a Feature Tour Stop of the International Mass Timber Conference

Fortis Construction’s East County Library was a feature tour stop of the 2025 International Mass Timber Conference. Along with project partners Multnomah County, Holst Architecture, Timberlab, and Magnusson Klemencic Associates, more than 120 industry professionals were led through the showcase public facility. Key areas of learning and education focused on the custom-designed wood connections, Building Information Modeling (BIM/VDC) coordination, preconstruction efforts, and the temporary protection measures that have gone into making this project a success.

The Conference represents an evolution of mass timber design and construction, with Fortis first attending in 2021 ahead of the early efforts of the mass timber Reed College and Multnomah County builds. With a humble approach to learning and becoming experts with large-scale mass timber construction, the International Mass Timber Conference was instrumental in ascertaining and advancing methodologies and best practices.
