Fortis was selected for this $1.1M, 4,500sf lobby-and-entrance upgrade to establish 400 SW Sixth Avenue as one of the most desirable destinations among Portland high-rises. Within the building, the new lobby features terrazzo flooring; a reception desk with custom millwork paneling; LED lighting; and back-painted, mirror glass wall finishes. The renovation also entailed new elevator finishes and the buildout of a new workout room and lobby conference room. To further enhance the space, a cutting-edge video art display is projected onto the lobby walls. For the building’s exterior, Fortis installed new stainless steel paneling, curtain wall and canopies. Also, an exterior, back-lit glass wall features rotating artwork to draw attention to the space. The building remained fully occupied and functional during construction, and the project has received LEED Gold Certification.
