This Portland Service Center renovation transformed a building originally constructed in 1955 into a modern and LEED Gold certified facility. The 43,000sf building contained dark hallways and workspaces, low ceilings, 1950s finishes and leaky windows. The renovation encompassed demolition of all interior finishes and conversion to a healthy, open-office plan with complementary amenity spaces and a new command center. Fortis delivered a structural upgrade to meet essential facility load criteria; new mechanical, electrical and lighting systems; and extensive exterior upgrades such as multiple new canopies, windows, skylights, storefront/metal panel exterior walls and a new light well providing daylight and views to greenery into what had been a windowless basement.
