DLR Group, Portland Office

DLR Group selected Fortis to build out its new $2.4M, 16,000sf downtown Portland headquarters. The project award was much in part to an established DLR-Fortis relationship of commercial and education projects. With the unique team structure of DLR as both the client and architect and Fortis as CM/GC, collaboration and smooth communication allowed the team to navigate the challenges of delivering this project during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the pandemic posed some significant procurement hurdles, the team’s outside-the-box thinking around advanced procurement, logistics, new safety protocols and communication tools resulted in DLR occupying the space on schedule and under the project’s budget. With a focus on sustainability, the project is targeting International WELL Building Institute certification.
