The OSU International Living-Learning Center is a five-story, 150,000sf concrete post-tensioned structure housing 350 students, which also includes several classrooms, faculty offices and retail spaces. The project utilized cutting-edge BIM technology to synchronize the structure and to coordinate the MEP design. Fortis led the clash detection effort, which identified hundreds of conflicts within the drawings; these items were corrected and modified in a collaborative effort with the design team before the work progressed in the field. The result was increased efficiencies and decreased quantities of RFIs and change orders. The project is built to LEED Gold standards and incorporates solar-thermal panels and radiant panels.
