Fortis worked with data center provider QTS to develop this greenfield site into a cutting-edge $60.5M facility. The project created a new 158,635sf shell and core for one finished data hall and space for three additional data halls—with complex MEP systems and power capacity up to 24MW. With thorough detail and a solid QA/QC execution plan, we were able to exceed QTS’ expectations by hitting room-ready milestones and resequencing construction to accommodate constant design iterations. Fortis also utilized a developer mindset in building this project within the constraints of available funding and an aggressive start-and-stop schedule. In addition, a highly coordinated VDC/modeling effort started early in preconstruction to ensure quality, reduce in-field changes, solidify fabrication efforts, and reduce the risk associated with the buildout of highly complex MEP systems.

Profile Picture

"Fortis has a deep pool of resources for data center builds, and the hurdles we overcame with this project reflect the strength of those resources."
