To create a new software support facility in Portland, Salesforce commissioned Fortis for the $8.7M effort. Phase 1 of the project consisted of a 59,000-square-foot buildout of three floors to house office space, a customer service call center as well as collaboration and other support spaces. The first floor features training and collaboration areas; a coffee bar; lounge; fitness area with treadmills, bikes and free weights; and an open, home-style kitchen. Floors 4 and 5 house the call center with other collaboration areas, pantries, a doggie work area and a yoga room. Outside the office is a dog park and gardening area. Subsequent to the initial buildout, Salesforce hired Fortis for a second phase; the $2M expansion added 55,000 square feet of open-office workspace and collaborative environments. The Salesforce Portland Office is LEED Gold certified.
