Is there fun in overhauling one of the (student voted) worst dorms in America?

As UO’s CM/GC partner, Fortis undertook extensive preconstruction effort with Bean Hall to complete the project in multiple phases, so areas of the residence hall could remain occupied to meet University needs throughout construction. Over the multiple phases of the $37.7M project, the entire 165,000sf residence hall was gutted, renovated and refurbished along with an exterior upgrade. The student rooms of the modernized facility are all double occupancy. Each room features new floors, wall and ceiling finishes and modular furniture. Restrooms have also been improved, with the sinks, toilets and showers being in individual spaces that provide convenience and privacy. Beyond the dorm rooms, upgrades include extensive student amenities, energy-efficient improvements, enhanced accessibility, and much-improved security.
