This highly specialized facility was built as part of the client’s broader efforts to create a prototype building that would influence future builds on additional campuses. As part of this effort, Fortis was selected to deliver—with design partner Cushing Terrell—a highly standardized process that would create efficiencies, maximize functionality, and align with the client’s masterplan to expand mission-critical campuses. The 40,000-square-foot building encompasses all the modern workplace environments and amenities of a Fortune 500 office including:

  • Central Control Room: large-scale space including more than a dozen workstations, command room, additional specialized and confidential environments, and is built with the resiliency to meet stringent requirements of the client’s Emergency Action Plan.
  • Flexible Work and Meeting Spaces: nearly 30,000sf of workstations; hoteling options; small, medium, and large conference rooms; phone rooms; huddle rooms; training rooms; and VR-enabled space.
  • Food Service: full-service cafeteria, multiple micro kitchens, food storage, and a production kitchen.
  • Fitness/Wellness/Lounge: 6,000sf dedicated to a fitness center, basketball court, changing rooms, showers, studio, mother’s room, massage room, lounge area, and an outdoor recreation zone.
  • Transportation and Logistics: bicycle parking, EV-charging stations, service yard, and a loading dock.
  • Salvaged and sustainable materials such as shipping container doors and repurposed metal panels.

The project was completed on time in just under a year and with zero safety incidents.
