Fortis completed this 8th-floor office within Portland’s Fox Tower for a confidential accounting firm. The new 19,200sf space includes 31 separate offices, an open-cubicle area, four conference rooms, a multi-purpose room, a kitchen area and gaming area/cafe that overlooks Pioneer Square. High-quality materials were used throughout the project: the new lobby and café feature stone and wood floors and the offices have high-end glass fronts and writeable-surface walls. The project is LEED-CI certified with an energy-efficient mechanical/electrical design and the use of low-VOC materials and extensive recycling during construction. Our crews worked days and nights to maintain the fast-track schedule and also to accommodate the building owner’s restriction on noisy work during off-hours. We also coordinated with the 7th floor tenants to install floor boxes for the firm’s conference rooms by doing this work at night and on the weekend. Since completing this office, Fortis has been commissioned by the client to renovate the firm’s 43,000sf multi-floor Seattle office.
