Based on a successful history with challenging renovation projects, historic buildings, and ensuring safe education campuses during construction, Fortis was awarded one EOU contract encompassing five major building modernizations at Eastern Oregon University. This included work with three separate architects that would achieve at least a LEED Silver level of sustainability for all facilities; each of these buildings were constructed and or modified over years dating all the way back to the 1920s. Among many different program needs, the comprehensive project provided major overhauls for EOU’s Colleges of Business and Education, Library, Student Union, and Coliseum that houses the campus fitness center and all indoor sports. Adding to the challenges, all of these Fortis projects at EOU were completed while the buildings were occupied.
