The Kaiser Permanente Building (KPB) Master Plan Renovation is a $21.5M remodel, which was directly awarded to Fortis based on more than 600,000sf of past successes with Kaiser. This 17-story building, located in Portland’s busy Lloyd District, was built in the early 1970s and stands as an administrative facility for Kaiser. The outdated infrastructure and interior layout required a complete overhaul. With the amount of work that needed to be completed—some overlapping, and with varying levels of complexity—it was Fortis’ decision to break up the project into smaller and more-flexible phases. These phases paired with detailed planning of site logistics, traffic controls, temp protection and site-safety measures ensured project success. Key scopes of work consisted of: restrooms remodels, structural upgrades, sewer- and waste-line replacement, mechanical and electrical infrastructure upgrades, and full-floor tenant improvements.
