To support a fast-growing public company that uses synthetic DNA tools to develop and create products in the fields of medicine, agriculture, industrial chemicals, and data storage, it takes a team of experts across numerous specialties. When it came time for a new and highly specialized space outside of Twist’s South San Francisco Headquarters, Fortis Construction stepped up with such a team of experts to deliver this $43M expansion of an existing 100,000sf warehouse/office facility. The results is a spec building that now has the look and feel of a modern bioscience facility, housing laboratories (gene, synthesis and silicon), an ISO 8 cleanroom, engineering studio, photolithography, secured chemical areas, and an array of specialized operations and administrative areas.
