“Begin with the end in mind” is one of Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and it’s what the team had in mind when taking on this campus-wide modernization. In the end, the PCC Rock Creek Campus Modernization was named the DJC Top Project for Best Renovation of the Year and earned the Energy Trust of Oregon High Performance Building Award. To get there, Fortis team members seamlessly transitioned from preconstruction to construction across numerous buildings, site work and infrastructure upgrades, while keeping everyone safe on the occupied and active campus. Virtual Design & Construction was utilized to ensure accuracy with all efforts, a COBID / Diverse Business Inclusion rate of 25% was achieved, and 98 percent of construction waste was recycled on the way to achieving LEED Gold Certification.

"It gives me great pride that we modernized this campus while it was still very active, and we kept everyone safe. Winning the #1 Education Project Award was also fun!"
