Fortis delivered the $3.4M renovation and addition of OSU’s historic Gilbert Hall, with the scope including more than 10,000sf of improvements. The project renovated two tiered, general-use classrooms; an outdated teaching lab; a preparation room; and provided a mechanical upgrade for the 80-year-old building. These renovations support multiple teaching pedagogies, incorporate current technology, and significantly improve safety and accessibility. Within the Gilbert Addition, the 48-bench wet lab underwent extensive renovation to modernize the space. Fortis installed fume hoods, two ADA fume hoods, two ADA lab benches, and a new chiller. The building remained occupied during construction.
