To convert the historic-but-dilapidated 1000 Wall Street building in downtown Bend into a premier mixed-use building, Redside Development turned to Fortis Construction. The scope of work included new architectural finishes for the the basement, first and second floors, and the mezzanine; a new three-stop elevator; new fire sprinkler system; new energy-efficient HVAC system; and new electrical and lighting systems. Built-out spaces for building tenants included the Patagonia retail store; Stadium Capital Management office; marketing firm TBD Agency office; Bend Mountain Coffee retail store; and the Happy Nail Salon. Numerous spaces within the building remained occupied during construction, with Fortis taking special measures to minimize impacts to businesses. With the inclusion of sustainable features such as the extensive reuse of wood and energy-efficient systems, the project is LEED Silver Certified.
