Why would a client request a specific Fortis team for back-to-back offices in different states?

Following the success of the Fortis-built Airbnb Portland Customer Experience Hub, the client asked that Fortis take on the buildout of its new 42,000-square-foot Seattle office. Similar to the Portland office, the Seattle office was designed and built to reflect true “listings” from Airbnb destinations across the world. To reflect these unique Airbnb listings, the $8.5 million project required an extensive amount of customization and craftsmanship to build out conference rooms, gathering nodes and specialist workspaces with the durability and functionality of a modern, high-tech workplace. In the end, Airbnb Design Manager Derek Orr stated, “The finish is immaculate. The precision – it’s fastidious craftsmanship…we now have the perfect environment to produce our best ‘quality’ work.” And in addition to the quality, about the overall functionality Derek stated, “We finally have co-located, cross-functional teams in a collaboration-conducive space.”

"Building Airbnb's Portland Hub and then being asked to go to Seattle for the next office was a great honor. I'm very proud to have been a part of these teams!"
